drilling a bolt
#3
Its not that bad just be sure to hold it straight so not to mess up the hole. You get to get a center punch and mark the center of the bolt so that your drill does not walk off. The start out with a smaller drill then the main size and work your way up. Remember if your hole is say a 1/2 bolt you do not drill with a 1/2 inch drill. I am a machinist so if you have any questions feel free to ask. When I did mine I had no problem with breaking any bolts off.

If the bolt isn't stuck/siezed too bad in the hole a "left hand" drill bit works wonders. when useing a bolt extractor put it in the hole that you drilled then tap GENTLY to push it tighter in the hole before trying to turn it out. use a size so about 1/2 the length is in the hole. and probably the most important thing is letting it soak with some penetrating oil like TXs said. also don't try to take the bolts out of a hot motor, even real warm will screw you up. heat expands metal, when it's expanded it's locked together and don't come apart. the best thing to do for a header job is to spray it with penetrating and let it sit overnight.

Good luck man. I had broken header bolts in my 6.0 pullout. This motor was out of the truck and I ended up destroying a bolt hole. I ended up having to drill it out and then when I went to retap it for a larger bolt, the tap broke off inside the hole!! I had to buy a new set of 317 heads.
