I have heard they were pretty easy... as long as you have the right tools. BadBlackZ (Santiago) has done them, I am sure he will reply to this soon. I am looking to get the escalade handles myself... I can get them for 145 already painted w/ shipping which is the best deal I can find.
Good luck,

its an easy install.
to get them i'd check ebay first. sometimes you can get lucky and find a pair. there also may be a few pairs for sale at fullsizechevy.com. other than that you'll have to go retail. practically ANYWHERE will be cheaper than the dealership

If your truck is black then you are lucky because they come in black. If not I would recommend disassembling them and having them professionally painted. I have had bad experience with spray paint so now I always use the body shop. Here is how you remove the door panel. Roll the window up. Firmly pull out the triangle piece by the mirror. Pull out the piece around the inside door handle. Firmly pull up on the control switch piece to remove it and unplug everything. Remove the bolt by the grab handle and the bolt behind the control switch piece. Lift up the door panel but before you remove it unplug the light and the tweeter so you don't rip the wires. Now there is some clear plastic to keep water out. You can either peel the corner up and glue it back down or do like I did and cut an X in it just big enough to put your arm in. Remove the little black plug inside the door jam. Use a socket to get to this bolt and needle nose pliers to remove the nut. The other two nuts you have to use a 10mm wrench and stick your hand up and find them and remove them. Be careful the window tracks are very sharp! Now from the outside carefully pull the handle out and disconnect the two rods. Now remove the lock from the old handle and snap it into the new handle. Now put the new handle in and do everything backwards. I think that is all.
