Dodge STS into the 13's ( or 12's )
#12
I don't know how my new truck with the STS will be, but the 2.8 S-10 I builts a turbo for last summer went from 5lbs of boost at 4800 ft where I built the kit, to 6lbs at sea level with no changes. Felt a lot stronger too.

With a turbo, there isn't as much of a change when changing altitude because the wastegate setting keeps boost psi constant regardless of air density.
With a supercharger, boost psi is dependant on engine rpm and air density, so changing altitude changes your power just like a NA engine would.

If that guy did a 13.xx 1/4 mile sec pass with an STS kit, he has done good. Looks as if he has his tunning worked out. The last one I saw run did a 15.7 @ 94 mph, but his tune is death to his truck, good MPH but bad ETs. A guy up in Delaware running a big boost kit GSM with a rich tune just got into the 13s as well, he is working on his tune and hopes to get low 13s or 12s, we'll see.

i think its great products are coming to the market for the dodges' but i have a question, how come more people don't do like hemi777 did? low buck rocket. i'd be all over doing something like he did with very little money involved.

if you only knew how little money i have in mods you would be sick.......i have a few sponsors that paid for all the nitrous goodies, drag tires, and a few other mods ......i only have a few hundred bucks total into mods.....less then one would pay for a cat back exhaust ......remember this is my work truck and i didnt wont to put much into it .......i just couldnt pass up the free goodies

h777, I know your times have been debated many times and im not here to call bs at all, im just curious to how you are seeing those numbers. I think i read somewhere on here where you listed your mods but i didnt look for it today. I was just using some rough calculations(hp calculator) and I used the weight of your truck 5k(i dont know if that is w/or w/out driver but it doesnt matter) and I used you et and mph. I came up with around 380 rwhp needed to see that number. Im sure you have done some suspension mods and everything but since you have no motor upgrades, converter, gears, wheels and tires, no programming, and no headers, I would like to know your secrect. Like i said, im not trying to dispute your numbers, but honestly i cant figure it out, like when i see other turbo and nitrous single cab ram trucks not running close to your numbers.

Those are great times!!!
I agree thought he altitude will still effect a turbo car. The air is less oxygen dense and therefore will make a turbo work harder to achieve the same amount of boost (IE hotter IATs) yet it will still be less dense. In cold temps I will see a high 6psi and if it's hot out I can see 1-1.5psi less.
