If you have pushbutton 4x4 it should switch back. Mine does. 4x4 netted me a lot slower times than switching back. And it switches back under power. No need to let off the gas in most cases

I guess simply cause when it's not actuated, the front wheels are being pushed by the truck, and when you actuate the front the truck has to lock in and takes more power to turn those gears. More moving parts???

Good info, the info that I had was from an old thread here, and I don't believe that it was ever confirmed. I have the pushbutton so it should work out well...when are you guys switching back, after the 1-2 shift or before?

Here's an old thread I started a while back in reference to launching in 4wd, this is where I originally found the conflicting info about whether or not the t-case would switch out at WOT. Just went back and re-read it and at least one guy said that his t-case most definitely switches out: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...unching+in+4wd

26" tires on 4.10s? what u run on the 1/8 or 1/4... ima look for some 28s since i c alot of people running that.. but only at track because man i would have driving home at 3000 rpm at 65..lol and well i switch out when ever i remember ususally i hit it rt after i launch like that if it doesnt let it go instantly it might have a better chance of letting it go on the shift.. but thats just me.. all i know is that when i let off and i turn around the fronts r no longer locked.. i just dont know when it let them go..

Yes I am positive my truck switches back under power. You shift back right after the 1-2 switch. For those who are running big power such as bill, they have to be careful when they switch back or else they will lose the rear wheels.

For folks like me who barely even chirp the tires from a 2wd launch, I don't even Bother with 4x4. I'll need it once I'm running more horsepower.
