disconnecting the battery???

Default disconnecting the battery???

will disconnecting the battery after my pcm? i've read in different threads that it will reset fuel trims and ect. is this a myth or is it true? i dont wanna unhook it and have to have my pcm retuned

Based on that theory. You would need to retune every time you replace or remove your battery. That would be like having to reinstall windows every time you unplug your computer.

a relearn not retune. I believe it does reset a few things, fuel trims being one of them... I believe it resets all the learned stuff, like spark, shifting, trims, etc...

Yeah, wouldn't it just reset certain setting, not return them to pre-tuned levels, right... (?)

so you guys are saying that if i get my trucked tuned for my new gears, and i disconnect the battery, all my shift points and speedo will go back to normal?


if so that sucks ballz!!!!

Not shift points and speedo... The adaptive shift learning has to do with shift pressures... After a few miles all the above will be back to normal... So don't worry about it.. The PCM just has to relearn some things...

No.

What would reset would be those things listed in BlackGMC's post. So, in other words, your truck adjusts certain settings based on driving behaviors, WOT all the time, or poking around like grandma headed to BINGO!
Those types of things would just reset. But once you drive it for a little while (don't know how long a Chevy takes?), it will adjust to your driving style/behaviors again...
