Uh, id say, buy a normal GM truck, get yah a loan for 10k and save yourself a few thousand, those prices are crazy.

edit: forget what i just posted, all that stuff and theyll cover w/ warranty, get one of them.

Thumbs up

I talked extensively with them around December about buying one of their trucks. The only drawback, if you could call it that, is they want you to order the truck as basiclly a stripper (no power windows/locks, ect.). The reason is to have it as light as possible. I guess you could get one off the lot, but the extra weight of the extras that are now standars might not produce the et's desired. They say the trucks are traction limited, possibly needing bars, and 4:10 gears. The ones they have built and run have run consistently in the 13.20 range with the larger pulley they supply so the warranty is still good. I think with maybe just a 50 shot of nitrous, traction bars, and slicks, it could easily be in the 12.80 range. That's pretty impressive!

Its always easier to buy the truck with everything already on it, especially if you get a low percentage rate.
Surely this truck is created for the performance enthusiast.

I ordered a stripper in 99 in hopes to build it up.
Well five years later I'm still slowly modding it.
Financing an already built truck would be great, especially a good foundation like this one. I look at it as Unless you have 10-15 grand extra lying around, than the bank or a credit card company is going to be making $ off you buying mods. This is if you do it all at once. Truck loans tend to be alot lower interest.
For the minimal weight reduction I don't beleive I would want a stripper again.
My friend has an 03 Silv SS with nothing more than a procharger 7-8ps1, chokemasters, servo and electric fans. Full Street trim 5300lbs++ runing 14-13.75 depending on Temp. Thats fully loaded,

If you want to save on weight order the power windows, etc and loose those heavy *** 20's. I never liked Swicthing to slicks at the track, it got old real fast,

Unless your only going to use this now and then I would get some power accessories.

Question

I'm still thinking about doing the Chapman deal, or, get a 1500HD with a 6.0, and the heavier duty trans, and posi. Does the 1500HD have 6 or 8 bolt wheels?
