Exclamation Death of the Lightening?

Just heard Stacy on Trucks say that the Lightening is discontinued!

Have you guys heard this and I'm just behind the times?

Behind the times...that info was out a while ago. I think there was a thread about it on here.

That's what I've heard. Too bad.
I hope the power wars aren't ending again.

There will be a new one soon enough- I've heard Ford's working on a 6.2 liter V8 to put in the new Lightening, and to replace the V-10 in the F-2/350 trucks. On the Lightening, the idea is to waste the SRT-10

2008 is what I read also. Don't hold yor breath on any "super truck" from Chevy. I don't think their engineers are in touch with the "real" perfomance community.

An AWD, Ext. cab is what chevy calls an SS...That shows how up to date they are. Don't get me wrong, I love the SS, I'm not bashing it or nothing like that. I'm just saying, the SS is supposed to dominate and kick *** in the stock form. I don't see our SS pulling a lightning or SRT-10 stock vs. stock. Know what I mean? It's obviously no competition for our competitors. A single-cab with a LQ9 would be lightning territory. And a single-cab with an LS2 would be freakin' awesome. Sorry for rambling on, I bored and at work!

The Srt10 uses a Viper motor!!! Its a heavy truck to begin with but it comes with a 6 speed! The Lightning has a supercharged V8 as everyone well knows. It seems Ford can only put up fights with Superchargers...... while GM remains N/A.

IMHO Chevy makes the SS a truck that can be used as a truck. They don't throw an eaton blower on the 6.0L or add two more cylinders. I'm sure if Chevy wanted to go wild they could use the 8.1 Duramax turbo motor and put an end to all the fuss.

The SRT10 is a weekend racer at best (look at the outragous price tag!) and the only Lightning I saw hauling anything was in that joke of a movie called Fast and The Furious.
