dead/dying battery affect performance?
#1
I guess i'm just hoping at this point since i've been having trouble getting any times better then stock with the addition of 4.10s
Anyhow, this morning i went to start my truck and it was dead. So i popped the hood and yanked the battery, only to find that the battery itself was bulging on the sides and completely dead.(obviously something that doesnt happen while the truck sits for 4 days)
With the new battery it seems to idle/run smoother if that says anything

A dead battery will put a higher amperage load on the alternator and require more torque to spin it. A good battery and electrical system will provide a more stable system voltage through the high load areas and reduce the torque on the engine.
Would you be able to measure a difference in performance at the track. I doubt, but I do see someone seeing subtle improvements in things like idle.
