Angry Damn Manifold

Well my truck messed up on me today . Dont know when it is going to get fixed. Hopefully soon. Well here is the story.

01 Thunder was polishing my tb and all was going good untill I turned my truck on. It idled fine. I started backing up but had to turn a little so I put it in drive. It was doing ok when i started to back up again. I had to turn a little bit more so when I threw it in drive. It reved up and jumped. I accidently almost ran Daniel over(sorry about that ). I turned my truck off and let it sit there. We turned it on again and the RPM's kept going up to 3000 RPM's. We checked everything and it all seemed ok. Well Daniel took the manifold cover off and he noticed there was a hole where the cover goes on. Apparently the cover got tightened to much and the plastic piece that holds it on got ripped off.
Now that I remember it, I have no O-ring on my EGR tube. Well now I have to go buy I new manifold and O-ring. IT SUCKS. $300 down the drain. If anyone else knows why this may be happening please let me know because your help would be greatly apprieciated. If anyone knows someone selling a good 5.3, 6.0, or ls6 manifold please let me know. Thanks.

P.S. Thanks for the polish Daniel . It looked real good for the 10 seconds I was able to really look at it .

Have you thought about JB welding the plastic piece on for the interim? That might make it driveable. I would use about a 70/30 mix with more hardener, or the instant JB weld stuff. I think that would really get you by until you can get one in, but I wouldn't run it any longer than you had to.

you do realize that the LS1 intake manifold isn't a direct swap onto your vehicle right? i wouldn't pay more than about 40 bucks shipped for one though. Brian can get you a HELL OF A DEAL on a truck manifold. just take him up. the LS1 swap isn't something to do unless you are ready for it. it's not a quick fix.

Who's Brian. What do you mean by being ready for the ls1 manifold?

brian is blownchevy, he can get you a good deal on a truck manifold. the LS1 intake manifold ISN'T a direct swap to the truck. there's changed that have to be made, and there's things that will get in the way and not allow you to do it if you don't make the changes.
