well, i finally got my pistons on thursday from a guy on this board and it seems that they are the right bore size 4.030" but they are for a 6.2" connecting rod 4.125" stroke combo. so, it seems that i have the pistons for a 422 build...when i really only wanted to go 370. what are my options here? can i just go with a longer connecting rod with the stock stroke to make up for the short piston, or am i going to HAVE to use a 4.125" stroke and 6.2" rod to make use of these pistons. this engine build is starting to wear me down and i'm needing a little modivation from you guys to keep going. help me out here cuz i don't know if i have junk pistons for a 370 build or if i should keep them if they aren't good for the 370 and go ahead and build a 422...but doing that will extend the time of the build a bit...since i'll have to get another set of bigger injectors and a **** load of other stuff including a new cam, heads will probably be ok, and who knows what else.

You'd need to get a custom length rod(~6.45"+) to use those pistons with the stock stroke.

I'd just try to sell them and stick to your plan. It really starts to wear you down when you start changing things in the middle of a build.

Why don't you call up Diamond---> and get a set of pistons. They'll definately be the right ones and they are really not a bad price.

Get the 370 done. If your gonna spray it there is no need for a few extra cubes. Just put a direct port on it and up the jets a bit.

Get'r Done.

Well i would like to say welcome to the world of building a motor. I have been there and know how bad it sux. Relax and dont make plans because your deadlines will most of the time never happen. It took me about 10 months to build mine. You will always be wateing on some performance shop. To tell you the truth i do not know how major racers get the parts they need in time. But my only advice is to get out of the rushing to get it done state of mind. That way you will not be mad when it takes longer then you think. Good luck!!
