Default Custom Cold / Ram Air Setup?

OK fellas here`s the deal. I made a bad *** ram air setup for my Z28 and want to know if any of you have done this for your Silverados. I just bought a 2007 Silverado Classic and want to know what is your Custom made ram air setup or what do you reccomend in a after market setup.

several people make their own intakes and ram air systems. my intake is a mutt really. UPD lid with volant ram air custom fabbed into my factory lower box. if i had the choice of any intake on the market without mondy being an issue i think i would go wit the volant/ram air setup.

I have the clear MTI lid on the Z28 and one of the tabs are cracked. The only reason I got the clear lid is because my son saw one at a photo shoot at HMP and I got one to supprise him. I also like the clear lid so I can check if the gasket that sticks to the lid is still in place. I`m near the Willowbrook area and would love to check out your setup. I bought the truck because the Z28 is down for now with zero oil pressure. I have installed a 160 T-stat and have adjusted my fans with HP Tuners and want to get it dualed out with a X-pipe and a cold/ram air system. I don`t plan on modding the **** out of it like I did the Camaro, but I want a strong daily driver. I miss my Z28.

Getting oil pressure down low, but with all the clatter (no knocking) up top I don`t think it`s getting oil pressure up top. I`ll confirm this when I leave this appartment and get my house the first of March. For the moment the car is sitting in my parents driveway. I`ll put a manual gauge to it and pull a valve cover when I get it in my own garage. Another well known member on LS1tech thinks my lifters may be pumping oil out the bottom of the motor. Like I mentioned above I most likley won`t mess with it untill the first or mid March.

I made my intake (modeled after UPD) and ram air setup all out of fiberglass. I did a write up on how it was all done, if you want a little winter project and are mechically inclined I did mine on the cheap. The only expensive part was the metal intake tubing.

I also made one by vacuuming forming a scoop out of plastic and welding a pipe in the lower airbox mounting plate. You can check it out here:
