What's the weight difference between the ext. cab and single cab 2003 1500? Also, what's the actual gas mileage, not the one Chevy offers. Thanks guys/girls.

 

i would estimate about 400 lbs. my 5.3 EC Z71 gets 15 mpg in the winter and about 19 in the summer

 

It would be a 4x4 model that I'm interested in, so that would pertain to me. I think single cab is the way I'm gonna go. Do you tow? I'd be towing an open car trailer every 2-3 weekends next spring through the summer and fall, as well as one trip to Kansas and back hopefully.

 

i have a 4x4 too. i tow a 19' fiberglass bassboat occassionally. i never really calculated my MPG after a tow. i tow in tow/haul mode and in 3rd gear. wish i could help you out on the MPG while towing

 

No problem. I was more interested in MPG on a daily basis since it would be replacing my Blazer (which only gets 17mpg anyway). Thanks for the info guys.
