Default Could it be done?

Dmax and Allison swap into a 1500 extended cab 2wd.
Now i dont want anyone chiming in saying for the cost might as well buy a 2500, i understand it could be quite pricey, and i understand the logical thing to do would be just get a 2500 with one equipped from the factory, however this is my first car and i would like to keep it quite literally forever, my logic is a dmax swap would make it last for, quite literally forever, not only that but it would make gobs of power, and you cant say a long travel 1500 preran dmax swapped silvy wouldnt be cool, now that we have gotten that out of the way, what would i need... Besides the obvious motor and transmission and all of their accessories. My thought is probably intercooler, radiator, brake booster, box in the frame, drive shaft, rear axle, maybe fuel tank and pump? and maybe have the long travel spindles built to accept the HD front hubs, but what else? cause if i could come across all the parts necessary i will do this. i figure that the bcm is probably the same between the 1500s and 2500s so id imagine that the dmax and trans would plug into the factory trucks wiring, provided they are the same years? idk, just spitballing, someone chime in and let me know what you know. Has it been done?

also, for the time being, i already have torsion front suspension, so i could just swap torsions out of a 2500 and that would probably work for the interim before the LT is done.

i understand how some people don't want to give up their first truck. use it as a dd and buy a 2500 for the weekends, the cost of doing that swap, you could have a 10 sec truck easy..
-but if your dead set on doing it GL

There was a very very nicely done Duramax Swapped single cab on eBay about a year ago.

It's been done, someone did one about 4 years ago. Can't remember if they were a member of this site or not.
Go to a diesel forum and check out their swap sections. There are a few threads of people looking to do what you've done and I'm sure with enough searching you'll find a thread where someone actually did it.

I'm thinkin that long travel prerunner suspension will need some adjustments with the added weight, and yea, the entire fuel system. That would be a sick truck though...
