convincing my father

I fought my parents with my first car, they eventually quit fighting cause my mom helped me keep my car running (letting me use her car to go to the parts store and such), but most of the stuff I broke was electronics that just flamed out...now I have my truck, on week 2 i scattered the 4l60e, I paid for that myself, and I am still fighting that battle. I am getting ready to put an sts on the truck, but I also bought a 6.0 to build before i push to much boost. Now, how I got the mods past my parents. First I did a small thing here there with there permission...first an Intake, then a Header...then I did some pulleys, finally I did an exhaust...the car ran strong until I went 1-2-3-2 with it...after that day i entered the debate about what to do with the car...I ended up fixing a few things and selling it, the truck is still stock as a rock cause I am having that same fight with my parents again, but I am also about to buy a used Vette for a DD...so best of luck to you, just do things they will agree with at first, like Long Tubes to make it sound better, then an ASP pulley and E-Fans to help out the gas mileage....eventually you will work them into letting you do more. And remember...talk to the one most sympathetic to your cause, who most likes to see you happy.

Hmm I dunno my dad loves watching huge smokeshows in the road out front, The nieghbors dont but oh well. I guess just keep it on the DL as much as you can, stay nonchalant. So i duno dont have that prob, my dad has built cars etc.. even had a few harleys that made loud noise. so anyway theres my input.

Or you could help them build their vehicle too, i bought my dad some nitrous for his motorcycle, lol, he loves it, but he's getting old and he said he can't take too much more light-headness cause he'll probably pass out and wreck

Well at least I know my kids wont have this problem. My two boys are 5 and 7. My oldest rides dirt bikes, and is ready to start racing (finally) I have a 76 GMC RCSB that we (as a father son team) will be dropping a big block into. Hopefully one or both of them gets the enjoyment of one day driving it as I'm sure to get out of building it.

my dad had a 9 second cuda...my mom had a 10 sec 69 camaro.
they got mad when i brought a cam and **** home. and i decided...just like previously said "its my daily driver, dont race it" i heard that from quite a few people and i sold it all back.
now im about to sell some other stuff and hopefully buy a 86-93 mazda b-series pickup...for a proj. truck. My silverado is about to hit 60k miles...and i have a warranty til 100k
mazda truck ==> 13b rotary swap, and bagged, bodydropped. hope to have it at about a 36" height when im done with it
im a minitrucker at heart...what can i say

Good idea, i'm ALMOST done with my truck for now. I'm just gonna get the eaton installed, and for christmas the cutouts and clutch are going in. I should be pretty close to mid 9's on motor and high 8's on juice so i'm gonna call it quits for me buying stuff for it til it's paid off. However, all my gifts i get throughout the year will probably be for it, like efans, pulley's, other semi-cheap stuff. But i'm probably gonna buy a dune buggy and make it fuel injected and slap a turbo on it and a little shot of NAWS! And maybe a set of 20's depending on what it looks like with bigger wheels.
