I agree with the original quoted post in that foam would be a superior cleaning agent verses a suspended liquid in the air stream for total top end cleaning. However, the large portion of the deposits you are trying to clean are caused by a suspended liquid (ie oil from pcv) therefore a suspended liquid cleaner should precipitate in the same locations. I also agree that introducing the liquid thru the brake booster hose will distribute most of the cleaner in the rear most cylinders but not for the reasons he explained. This is why I distribute seafoam on a truck intake thru the pcv port on top of the manifold. As already mentioned this benefits two fold, better distribution thru the intake runners (by design of the truck intake) and it is distributed in the same manner/location as the residue you are trying to clean. :2cents:

Also, I never put seafoam or any other cleaning agent in the oil. Use a good oil with a decent detergent package and you should never have an issue in the crankcase. I will occasionally put a can in the fuel though.

Depends on what intake you have. The hose on the tb going to the valve cover is not a vacuum source. You best bet would be the PCV port on the top center, or the EVAP port on the top closer to the front. This is for a 5.3L NBS intake like on my 01.

The reason I was asking about the hose from the TB is becuase of the picture the OP had on there.
This is it. This is what really got me curious. All I've read on the internet is using the booster or the PCV.

That's PCV line on the LS1 intake. The truck intake doesn't have that port there.

The PCV line on the trucks is on the drivers side valve cover, towards the firewall.
