Default Components? Come on in....

I am going to be running components in my truck(MB Quart PSD 216). I don't know where to place the crossover. In my 01 model, I placed them inside the doors but after a year or so the screws started corroding. Keep in the mind the MB quart crossover are a little bigger than the average size. So where else do you all suggest to put them other than inside the doors?

Mine are hidden in my door. My x-overs might be a bit smaller. I run some Boston Pro's for mine. I run them through PPI amps.

I am using an Orion XTR 500.3 for my 10L7 and a Phoenix Gold 300.2 for the Quarts. I wanted to buy another Orion 500.2 fo the mid and highs but they were out of stock locally. So I got the Phonix Gold. It's supose to work real good. as far as the head unit I will running an Alpine CDA 9813.
RGVsierra, I will let you know when it's done so you can listen to it.

Hey I run JL XR653's in the front of my truck and my x-overs are mounted (I don't have any pics but I will try to explain):

on the drivers side... near the gas pedal there is a big open space up and to the right. I mounted it there.

on the passanger side... sorta stuffed between the dash and the box where the evap core is. Mine are all secured via a screw to the nearest flat space.

I would not mount your x-overs in the doors. There is too much moisture in there and they can corrode and rust, not good. Just keep some air to them so they can cool off and your seperates will live a long and happy life.

I'd adjust your x-over points on your amp around 80hz @ 24db/oct if they are 6.5" speakers and you have a sub in the mix. If you are lacking a sub I'd drop to 18db/oct or maybe even 12db/oct for a bit more from the mids.

My three ways are: 80-300 midbass, 300-5000 midrange, 5000+ tweets. At least I think those are my midrange points...either way all my stuff is bandpassed and I run 24db/oct points for a steeper drop off for cleaner sound.
