Default The cluster thing again

As we all know the 03 model trucks had problems with the clusters messing up. GM says they'll warranty the cluster 7yr/70000 miles.
Well, I got the letter in the mail today about it and I was curious If they'll still replace mine.
Here's why i ask.
I got my truck from a dealer with 75k on the clock. Shouldn't it have been the dealerships responsibility to replace a faulty cluster before reselling the truck?

also. If they will replace it, they'll need to calibrate the new one right? So should i detune the truck before taking it in?

I plan on checking tomorrow but wanted to get some opinions.

Nope the letter says they'll warranty up to 7 yr. 70,000 miles ( whichever comes first). i just finished fixing my first one today. just replace the stepper motor in the cluster. do a search and you can find step by step instructions.

the stepper motors sell for $10/ea. on ebay too

Yea the speedo and the fuel gauge are the two that tend to mess up. If you have less than 70k take it in.
I just don't see why I should have to spend money to fix it if they should have done it before they sold it to me.
