Default Cd player install

My friend has a 93 silverado cheyenne and this thing is being a bitch about getting a new stereo into it. I need to know where the factory amp is, and which wires are which on this thing. It came with just a radio, no tape or cd player, the basic system. There are six wires:

red - switched
yellow - constant
black - ground
orange - dimmer

white - ???
brown - ???

I'm guessing the white and brown go to the factory amp. Oh, yeah, the 4 power wires aren't exactly working the way i expected them to, in other words...no power yet to the cd player. Any help?

Found out the orange is actually constant. Can't find a switched one. The yellow and red are suspect, i keep checking fuses to make sure none are blown, the yellow and red aren't doing anything.

Definitely a seperate amp? Sounds like a good guess for those two wires...pre amp out? I have no idea where the amp would be. Probably would be better in a different forum.

i found it, it is right above the gas pedal. Maybe a mod could move this to the electronics forum.
