cd player adaptor question

Default cd player adaptor question

let me first start by saying that i searched and didnt find what i was looking for.

ok so i bought a generic gm wiring harness to install my new cd player, and it didnt work. after having a friend look at it he told me that ill need a special adaptor because all of my warning signals and stuff run thru the stereo harness. anyone have a link to a store that sells them? anyone have and advice? i dont wanna have best buy do it cause i can save like 150 bux doin it myself...

sorry... forgot to mention... 05 v6 silverado reg cab. base of base lol...

any help? thanks!

best buy will have the adapter your looking for, then install it yourself. its a little box with a dinger in it

here is another type like this one, but it sends the open door ding through the front left speaker. i wouldnt use it.

either way they both plug right into the factory wiring and let you add what ever deck you want, and it gives you the remote on/off.

go to walmart they have em for thirty bucks i put it on my 06 rst schimes like factory.

ok so i just got around to buyin the adaptor with the dinger. the gmrc-01 harness is what its called...

anyways, i hooked it all up and color matched everything... the speaker gets power and has no problem chiming... but i cant get the cd player to turn on at all... any ideas?
