Default Cat. converters in Texas?

I'm about to get some Pacesetter L/T's and was wondering if it's ok not to have them in Texas. I see a lot of you guys don't run them, so how do you pass the smog inspections?

The emissions testing begins September 1, 2005 in Travis and Williamson counties. I don't think it's going to pass without Cats.
Now you see em, now you don't.

...lol...Iv never had a smg test before. All I do is go in..and thne come out with a passed inspection. They key to having a truck that isnt really legal. Is knowing someone that is willing to pass it. I happen to kno one. But before....half the guys i took it to never even checked for them.

on cars 96 and newer they only plug in to the computer on your truck, check the vacume on your gas cap and a visual(check tint, lights, see if you got cats etc). no sniffer. if your compter says all is good then your set. thats how it is here in houston anyways.
