can somebody please tell me what this wire does
its the only wire stopping my power windows from working, its the brown wire.
i tried pointing it out to make it more clear..all i need is the thick orange and thin orange for power and thick black for ground plus this mystery brown wire that is neither power or ground. when hooked up to a volt meter it was showing to be a slight ground but barely.
it plugs into the fuse panels on the drivers side interior

if its the connector im thinking about its both power and ground. When you work the switch one way its a power and then work the switch another way its a ground or visa versa. It connects the driver and passanger side switches also if i remeber correctly. I might be totally wrong tho bro i could be thinking of an entirely different connector.

The closest thing I can find in the diagrams where there's a brown wire for the power windows is with the RAP relay. The brown wire comes from the run side of the ignition switch to the relay (pin 87A). From the relay, a dark green wire (pin 30) goes to the power window/power lock switch in the doors. Without this wire you can't operate the windows with the ignition in the run position. However, you would be able to run the windows after shutting the engine off before you open the doors.

thank you for the help everyone im about to go see if i can hunt down these wires..i had a question though, if this brown wire is controlled by the RAP realy and and goes from hot to dead from the ignition being on or off wouldnt it work if i jus bypassed it and conneted it to a hot wire? thats whats a little confusing because connecting it to a hot wire does nothing

By chance did you replace the drivers power window switch? If so it has to be programmed with the Tech 2 or it will not work, keyless entry too.
The Body Control Module controls the RAP relay by providing a ground. Give me a little more info on what happened and what you are trying to do. I understand you are trying to get the windows to work but what led up to this?
