Default A/C wont stop blowing air

Ok heres my problem yesterday I drove my truck and turned on the a/c everything was working fine so I get home and shut the a/c off before i turn the truck off like ussual and notice that the blower kept blowing I then turn the truck off and still the blower is blowing so at this point I am asking myself WTF is going on. I then disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes and then re-connect back up and same problem the blower wont stop blowing I played around with the a/c/ controls but nothing this thing just wont stop blowing I took out the blower fuse which is in the fuse box under the hood which made it stop blowing, anyone have any ideas of what could be going on?

blower resisor might have gone out, but I've never heard of one just staying on. It usually kills one of the speeds and not just staying on

I would agree with Tootall, I believe that harness has 12v all the time, if the harness itself melted bad enough it could be making contact with one of the other wires, thus making stay on all the time...

I have seen this many times. Most likely the blower motor resistor. Also check for melted wires at the motor connector.

Yep, pop out the resistor and see if it's broken. Mine literally broke in half and had burn marks on it. Also, the wiring harness will probably need to be repaired or replaced. I just repaired mine.

I'll bet my hairdo (I'm bald )that you're going to find the wires going to the blower resistor melted and shorted, you'll want to replace the resistor and splice in the new harness. There were a few threads in this section about this problem recently, but usually guys lose some fans speeds, or all speeds but high, etc. If you search probably a few threads down, you should find some inexpensive options and links to the parts you need

Thanks guys I will try and take a look at it this weekend.
I did try searching but i found alot of threads talking about the blowers speed but mine was different it just wouldnt turn off Im guessing a new resistor and new harness should do the job.
