A/C Compressor sensor???????

A/C Compressor sensor???????
What is the connector on the back of the truck A/C compressor for? The LS1 f-body and vette compressors don`t have an electrical connector on the back, but the truck compressors do. I am guessing that the connector is for the high pressure switch, but I am not sure, can anyone confirm this?
