I would still have an indipendent shop look it over. I know when I sold cars for a chevy dealer here in Tx for 6 years I always told my customers when they bought used to have someone look it over for them because you don't want someone elses problems.

Man from what ive seen on the board, Texas isnt the best place to buy a vehicle from.

That is true also, but at least I can say that when our salesman at our dealership sell a car , they dont have to tell the custmer to get it checked out by a mechanic.

Well everything sounds pretty safe with this one now, so I feel much better about that upcoming test drive

I know its probrobally a little late, but I would be lookin' for at least a 2000 and up. They have different injectors, make more power, better PCM, and are just a much better starting point then a 1999 as far as modding goes. The price for an equally equipped and equal miles 2000 is probrobally the same as a 1999.

Believe it or not, I'm not looking to mod this truck...at least not engine-wise. I'll probably do a few appearance mods though to personalize it more...

I just want a nice daily driver that has the benefit of a bed for hauling and the 4wd for Winter.
