Thumbs down Broke already.........

So I get going down the road the other day to go to the store, I come to a stop light and see smoke coming from under the hood, then I instantly smell burnt coolant. I get to a place that I can finally stop after watching the temp gauge jump to max, pop the hood and there's coolant all over. I check all the hoses, they're all good, pull the dipstick and there is MILK!!!!!

Blown head gasket.......

Luckily I have a warranty.

well from him saying "broke already" as the topic, sounds like he just had something done to it, probably someone needs to check their torque procedures when installing heads.

Nothing's been done to it, it's all stock, I have cat-back exhaust, that's all.

I talked to the dealership today and they told me that nothing's wrong??!!

They said they drained all the fluids, (oil, coolant), replaced it all, drove it for a while and did a pressure check and said that it's all good. This doesn't sound right to me AT ALL. He said they're gonna pressure check it overnight, if it's a leak down test, can't that only be done one cylinder at a time? How is it gonna be done overnight?

Do I need to raise the BS flag on this one or what? I don't wanna go up there and raise a bunch of hell tomorrow just to look like and *******, lol.

The only way that coolant could end up in the oil is from a blown head gasket, right? I'm pretty pissed, and confused....

Blown head gasket, cracked head, cracked block would all put coolant in the oil. I think the dealer means that they're gonna put a pressure tester on the cooling system and see how much it drops overnight, and maybe check and see if it smokes or misses upon start up.

Bummer man, hope that this doesn't turn into a hassle...

I hope it doesn't either, could the dexcool have gummed up and when the head gasket blown it clogged it up? Sounds retarded, but you never know.

Coolant was obviously coming from the pass side head, should I just bitch until they replace the gasket or trust them? I have this funny feeling that I'm getting the big stiffy on this deal.

there is a blletin out about the heads cracking around the bot holes and causing your problem. and I would raise hell b/c the coolant and oil didnt just jump together..
