Default Breaking something the right way

I have seen gm trucks lately with the entire dashes painted and it looks pretty sweet. Im sure its only a matter of time before I attempt to do it on my truck or for someone else. My question is, how do you get the passenger dash handle off? ( the one above the airbag) Also, i was wondering how to prep the flexable pieces so that they wont chip or crack when they are touched. If i break it, i want to do it right <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

As for the dash handle... I believe you go in through the air vents and loosen two screws then it slides out. And to paint it you need to use a flex primer so the paint wont crack.

thanks, i appr. it. do you know if its fairly easy to get back on? I saw a truck at a recent truck show and it looked like the handle didnt go back on as flush as it did when it was stock.

The grab bar works just like any headrest with the release button. You have to pull the vent on each side of it and there is a button on each side in there. Press em and pull the bar out. It will mount flush when put back on properly.
