The malibu is about as bland as a glass of water. Explain why you would spend money on a POS? That makes no sense what-so-ever. Just because of the brand? Let me further explain, this is my wifes car not mine! The only midsize sports sedan I would consider from GM is the Grand Prix GTP. I tried, but she just didn't see it the way I did.
She made the right choice IMHO. I wouldn't own a malibu or Impala if it was given to me
. GM disgraced the name of those two cars when they went FWD and V6's. The supercharger in the impy is a bandaid. You could say the same about the GTP, but at least it has style. At least I have no more Ford's in the driveway

Just for the record, we have been looking for over 3 months for the best and right deal. I feel like we found it. I'll let you know the long term. BTW, I drove a malibu for 2 months a few years back while out of state working, 98 I think. Well in 04 they change the sheetmetal.
It was fine for room, but with cars, you have to get with the style points. Of course, my Camaro was at home in the garage, so the comparison wasn't fair.

FAST, i got to agree with you on the GTP. I want one of those too. I may get rid of my Z28 to get one. My Z gets @ 27mpg on the highway, so its good for trips exept for the fact its soooo loud and the kids car seats dont fit so well. A 4-door GTP will fix that problem.
No complaints here on the car you got. I like them, they have alot of style. Want my Camero, hahaha

maybe in your opinion the imports are kicking *** in that division fast4.8, but not according to sales from motor trend mag. Chevy is actually the one kicking ***. imports are down, chevy is up. let me learn you a thing or two
"2004 Shifting Populatiry
Whats going on? Quietly, Chevrolet has grabbed car market share from rivals with improved product, aggresive priceing, and strong incentives."
your right about buying a pos just b/c brand, but i was only kidding by stating im a die hard chevy fan. The malibu is no pos. i really dont think it looks that bad. im just happy for chevy that there kickin *** and will support them.

i was bored. so i made a lil comparison chart for ya. http://www.chevrolet.com/comparator/...h&trimID=14175
The comparison is between a 2003 altima, not '02 like the one you purchased.
well i guess there is no comparison according to you, b/c you woudn't take it if i gave it to you, but still in my opinion, the malibu is an awesome car for a chick. Better gas mileage, probably b/c of the less power, but even so. plus, all the extra safety features which is pretty cool and the extra 2k you save. the only thing that is lacking comparing it to the altima would be looks like you mentioned, which really aren't that far behind.
im glad your happy with your purchase, just stating some facts.
just to edit this, the comparison chart doesn't work when you click on it. sry about that

My wife has a 99 maxima that we bought new. It is by far the best car we have ever owned. Even after 5 years (although it only has 49,xxx miles on it) it is just as tight and well mannered as it was brand new. This car handles, stops, accelerates, and drives overall just as smooth as new. Good choice, I'd buy another Nissan in a second, and probrobally will. My wife is trying to beat me for a new Infiniti G35 now!
