The bet is on!!! Sierra vs lighting!!!
Well guys me and my dad just made a bet on who well win my 05 4.8 vs my dads 04 lighting it's going to be good
i just have to do some more mods to my truck befor the race
like a cam, 3000 stall, longtubs, and a good tune and i think that should do it
that lighting is in the low 13s so it going to be tuff but not impossible my truck is only in the low 15s do you guys think it could be done?
NEW update i bought a lq9 to swap out the 4.8....

You're going to need some headwork, a 220+ duration cam, 3000+ 9.5" converter, longtubes, good tune, 4.10 gears/locker, some sticky tires, and possibly some weight reduction (no spare, tailgate, etc) and you should beat him if he doesn't have many mods. But If you don't do the heads, its going to be very close, or he's going to beat you.

i think with a healthy cam and 3600 stall and ALL the bolt ons and sticky tires and a little weight reduction you'll be right with him. i don't know what the record is for a NA 4.8 but if a RCSB 5.3 can go 12.4-12.5 cam only then a 4.8 should be able to do high 12's.
