i work for fedex freight and we get wheels and tires through there all day long. as someone who sees what goes on behind the delivery...put the wheels on a pallet. if you don't have one, there is usually one laying around somewhere, just ask for it to be shipped on one. oh and wrap the crap out of em with plastic wrap. i've seen some bad things go worse because of no plastic wrap.

That's right, $649.

Fedex.
Its because it went to Alaska. I spent almost $40 on regular shipping for some clear turn signals to a guy in Alaska via UPS.

FedEx is the way to go. I shipped all four of the tires individually from Texas to North Carolina for $77.40. Thanks for all of the input!

Yep, I use Fed Ex for all my shipping, always found it cheaper than UPS or Post Office.

How much do you think it would cost to ship a bare 4.8 block. How much do you think the bare block would weight and who would be your best bet? Fedex Thanks Guys

No idea how much it weighs. But Fedex is probably your best bet. They also don't have hidden charges like DHL does (ie. oversize tax, pickup fee, fuel tax, etc.) The estimate I generated on their website by entering the weight, dimensions and zip codes was exact to the penny what I paid.
