Default Best Setup?

Just really getting into this scene and lack the experience and testing, that I'm sure most on here have invested considerable time in! I'm looking to get into the low 13s or high 12s and was wondering with everyone experience here what all would it take to add to my setup to get there!

Currently have: 02 reg cab stepside, LQ9, T-56, tune, K & N air intake, Eaton posi, 4.88 gears Probably on the upper end of 14s now!

4.10 gears are on the way, I just don't have the experience to know how much time, different things like a good supercharger or cam, would shave off.

Just looking to learn something here guys! Thanks for you time/help in advance!

With the right cam and FI you're there. Or you can go cam and nitrous. Depends on your likes/dislikes.

Where are you from?

I'd like to see what your truck would run like it is. Then see what it runs with the 4.10s..

A simple turbo kit could get you the times you want, so would nitrous, and also a blower or supercharger.. What's your budget?

Thanks for the info. guys. I'm from north la "louisiana". Haven't been to the track yet to see the times, but geared too low even w/ t-56. Didn't know til gears were ordered.
I know the 4.10's will help but I could go before the install to give you an idea.

I was thinking a supercharger would be better for me, simply because of my experience. Also with a cam swap what all internal would need to be changed from factory setting?

you could swap in a cam and get some power. Or you could do a radix(I recommend) and you will be in the 12's no problem with traction, shifting and launching practice. A cam you will need new pushrods, valve springs,(recommend Titanium retainers) cam, and a few small odds and ends but that's the big stuff. I had a 07 GMC old body style
4x4 reg. cab with radix 6lbs boost, LT's no cats, bassani mufflers, lowerend in rear, Custom tuned and ran a 13.2 @106 on a 55 degree night. Launched in 4wd and hung on. avg was 13.5 all because of the launch. Traded the truck off after that because the tranny was toast after a few runs. If I was you I would do a cam(see how you like it) and then do a FI and have the T56 beefed up.

Live just north of Natchitoches. Know any good transmissions shops in that area that can make t-56 strong!
