I love my Nelson's tune. I have to laugh every time I see someone wanting a "BOX" that plugs into their truck that tunes for performance. All trucks are different and one tune won't do for all. You with Nelson's already know this! Allen is a cool guy with alot of experence and a good bit of natural ability when it comes to mod tuning. All others give it a try and you won't be dissapointed. From the ultimate sleeper truck, GMChasLS1!

Few Westers worshipers from GMTrucks.com are having a PCM showdown somewhere in TX. 02Denali knows a bit more about it than me. Im tired of that board. Stock truck with a tune from both providers. Run for say 50-100 miles. Then dynoed to see who comes out on top. Most know who its gonna be. I think thats the jist of it.

Im assuimng most people on that site have no idea what KR is or what it means if you are getting it. I still dont understand this so called "dual fuel" tuning Westers does. Im guessing they set up the High Octane table for whatever timing is safe for 93. Then set up the Low Octane table for whatever other crap gas you want to run. If thats the case, I dont think that will work will it?? Doesnt the PCM go off of both tables for timing?? Or just revert to the Low Octane table if it senses a long session of knock? Im still learning here. Either way I dont think its a smart move.

If your gonna get a tune, pick what gas you want to run all the time and adjust timing accordingly. I wouldnt run 93 on good days and then get chincy on the second thursday of the month and run 87. The whole mail order tune doenst tickle my fancy. The fact that most people dont have the means to buy Edit so they can reflash thier truck if they are getting KR because of too much timing or whatnot. But Id feel better if I let someone such as Allen tune it, run the truck a while, log it and see whats going on and make sure you arent getting any KR and the 02 millivolts and LTrms are somewhat where they should be. I wouldnt want to order a Westers tune, wait however long to get it, install it, run it for a while only to find my truck is knocking like a SOB, take the PCM back out, send it back to get reprogrammed, wait longer to get the PCM back, reinstall and hope the aformentioned problem doenst happen again. I dont know if my ramblings even make sense but in my mind thats how I see it. If I were in the market for a tune and I didnt have Edit, I would drive to Allen to let him tune my truck. My 2 cents.

I am not an expert. Nor do I play one on tv!

Did you get your truck tuned at Allen's place? I'm wondering the difference for the people not near someone who can "live tune" your truck.
