went to a car show and and found some old chevy's. can someone tell me what a stove bolt is? more pics to come.

The reason the General Motors inline-6 cylinder engines were referred to as a Stovebolt was due to the engine's 1/4"x20 slotted-head bolts that held sheet metal parts to the engine. These bolts looked like the bolts that were used on metal wood burning stoves, hence the slang term or nickname of Stovebolt.
that turbo looks interesting...was it gas?

The stove bolt was the first inline 6 that was produced by gm, in the early 1930's, I think and was only about 55 hp or so....

It was nicknamed a "stoveobolt" because the hardware used on the engine resembled the hardware that was found on the stoves hardware that were popular in that era.
