These door locks suck! Do I really have to take mt truck to the dealer to get the locks turned off on my 1999 Sierra 2500? What a stupid idea, anyone have any suggestions?

 

Check the owner's manual. For my 2000, there's instructions to custom program the locks or eliminate the auto locking all together. I can post my instructions if needed.

 

Just learn to hit the unlock button when you get out......I've never really found it THAT annoying.....

 

I guess everybody has a different oppinion of annoying. I have lived with it for two years now and think it sucks. At least GM got smart in 2000 and made it so the owner could make the locks do what he/she wants.

 

Yes, take it to a dealer or someone with a Tech2 and have them disable the rolling door lock feature. It only takes a few minutes, so hopefully they won't try to charge you much to do it.

 

I figured that was my only option. Wish my snap-on scanner would do it but it won't.

 

I had mine re-programmed 2 days after I bought mine. I agree, it was annoying.
