So the military does nothing for your protection? Technolodgy is to try and save lives, and prevent war as much as possible. And in extremely bad cases its used as a weapon. If we went around nuking countries because someone pissed us off we would kill alot of inocent people.

Me being in the Navy sometimes i feel guilty that i wish i could do more. There are people in Iraq dying for reasons they may not fully understand, and i just fly over in a P3 Orion. Then there are other times when i get angry because CERTIAN people want to down those serving right now and think what we do isnt protecting them. I'm not trying to justify anything going on right now, or ever. I'm trying to say we do what we do not for glorry, fame, religious beliefs, political beliefs. We serve because it has to be done to PROTECT this country and what its about. It may not always work like that, but this country is still one of the youngest and most powerful. This country will make mistakes because it is run by normal eating shitting people. When the dust clears and mistakes made we will be standing there. When a foriegn body attacks and most civilians run, we will also be standing there. To say the Armed Forces dont do so much "Protecting" anymore is crazy.

Step back and think about what it is I'm asking for. I have spent over one year away from my little girls and wife the past 2 years so i could give them a better life. I'm not wanting a place to talk about how god should just smite the Iraqies. Or a place to talk about this war is just like VN. I am asking for a place to get with others serving, and have served to discuss things from places traveled, things away from home, problems with deployed life, ect.

If a problem with politics or religion occurs then thats what mods are for. To keep it on track. I myself and ONXY for sure wouldn't mind doing this, because were always on here no matter where we end up.

Possitive support is crutial to those serving away, and this would be a good spot to do so.

 

dude, i just dont see how the military is protecting me from my plane being hijacked by some psycho and running it into a building. whether theres military or not, that **** can still happen. if iraq and al quida turn people into evil beings then thats just the way things go, nothing is stopping them.... unless u kill the whole country(nuke), then it will continue.

the problem is that we're so deep into it now that we cant turn back, and kids are dying because of it. it goes back to the old saying "all or nothing" or "if ur gonna do it, do it right" .... kill the country or just stay out completely those r the choices.... one is harsh at the beginning but better for the future, the other keeps everyone happy now but doesnt change ****
