its a car forum... military/political/religious views need to be kept to yourself, because they have nothing to do with anyone else. yes, people in the military do protect us but i believe most par take is for personal issues. doesnt need to be on the forum

On this entire site there are only about 7 sections that have to do with what the site was originaly for. And thats out of about 50 total.

Military has NOTHING to do with religion/politics. It has to do with people in a close group no matter where they may be in the world. It would be simular to a Regional Section. And those have nothing to do with cars, neither do the lounges. There just places to talk/post about people with simularities and just plain out BS.

there IS religion in military. most of the guys in the armed forces are religous, which takes a big part in deciding to risk ur life. if u believe strongly enough that theres an afterlife, u will be more likely to not give a **** about death. kind of like the al quida and running planes into buildings, those guys thought they were going to get 40 virgins in afterlife. its all brainwashing and propaganda so ull do what ur government wants u to

I figured someone would get all pissed off at what I said. My point was that I don't see the need for a seperate and specific section focused on military affairs. This is a car website, we deal with cars. I have no problems with discussing military issues in the lounge which is where they should be discussed anyway. Take for example all the people that play a musical instrument on this site, should they get a specific section then too? Or how about computer gamers? A special section dedicated to them? Again, I want to re-iterate, in case anyone missed it, that I mean no disrespect to our veterans and serving military persons. I'm truly thankful for what you do.

No disrespect taken.

The gamers do have a section on here. The Media Exchange.

Politics and religion are the reasons you have a military to begin with. If every country had the same core political and religous beliefs there wouldn't be wars. Religion and politics have been the basis for every war ever waged on this planet and you don't win wars without a strong military.

About the regional sections, I believe they were intended to serve as local boards for a specific area to discuss thier car related topics. Whether that it what happens in them now, I can't say.

i'm in no way trying to argue, but then what is the point of hearing nothing but people bs'ing in the lounge on a car tech forum.

also comparing peoples hobbies to people that protect us is in no way a comparison.. just my .02

i think its a great idea and if it wouldent be taken into consideration yet a lounge would, something is wierd here.

saying they protect us is going a little far now days. we dont need a military like we use to because theres so much technology and nuclear warfare now. i dont feel protected from iraq because we have a military, i feel protected cuz we have bombs and nukes
