Just made one on my tahoe, finally..never did it because i didnt have efans, but ive had them for the last 3 years lol..spent $20 bucks and 15 minutes...honestly i noticed a difference right off the bat..seat of the pants, it pulls much better mid-top end..i was having a low idle/dying problem with my stock chopped intake, and this fixed it..I have the bottom of my air box cut out, and 4" pvc..gonna paint it black and all should be well..only thing i noticed is that the 4" rubber boot from the TB to the elbow is rather close to the pulley to the right, but i moved it over enough so i should be fine

mine runs 9-10* higher than outside temps, sitting in traffic on 90*+ days it will climb 30-35* higher but as soon as i get to moving it drops fast.

guess i will put this here

Dont mind the messy engine, I forgot to put my denali side covers back on

Just wanted to throw this out there. My truck has a 6.0, BB tune, headers and ORY, muffler in place of stock, modded stock intake, 3.73s with heavy 24s. Ive been running a stock intake with the bottom silencer cut out and sealed, with the bottom of the air box cut out. Muffler was a worn out 14" magnaflow. I just finally did the 4" pvc intake and i swapped the 14" for a new 18" magnaflow. I made the same trip last week. 170 miles to school and 170 back. They way up I got 17.9 and the way there i got 17.8. This was cruise set at 72, 95% interstate and 5% city. Gas station to gas station. I just got this stuff done yesterday and made the trip back home. Same gas stations. Got 19.7 mpg. 170 miles and 8.6 gallons. So i picked up 1.8 mpg with the intake and new muffler. It sounds crazy, but I can notice the power difference. Maybe because I was tuned for an intake, but only had the stock one. not sure. Just wanted to throw it out there. I know SamCarrol picked up 2-3 with his intake, so it was well worth the 18 bucks I spent.

I should say its not doable if you still have a clutch fan since the elbow would be in the fan.

I have been making this trip for the last 4 years and never got better than 18.2, so ive put some time into checking it.

Didnt have an elbow that would fit a 4" pvc, so I just used another 4-4 adapter and it worked great. Gonna paint it black tomorrow.

4-4 adapter on the TB to 4" elbow, 4-4 from elbow to 4" pvc. 4-3 adapter to the MAF.
If you notice, its offset to the left a bit. Had to do this to clear the pulley to the bottom right. If I would have gone with 3" everything, it wouldnt have been a problem. Not sure if that would make a difference or not.

Here ya go man. I also used thin walled pvc sewar pipe. I have since wrapped the pipe with header wrap. Don't really know if the wrap helps much though....

Thanks for the pics guys!

So everyone is seeing gains from the 4in tubing even with the stock MAF in line? I have a JET MAF and I think it is 85mm in size which seems to be a choking point in the system.
