Anyone instaled aluminumgrille inserts?
#1
I just got my speed grill Aluminum inserts for my 2002 Silverado. They look easy enough to install, but I was wondering how to get the grill off. It doesn't include how to take it off. Anyone else here installed this or something similar. Thanks in advance for you help

Seriously, you dont have to cut anything. There are four twist locks that hold the grille in place and two clips, one on each end of the chrome bar that holds the grille onto the fender.

I too have the speed grill. I drilled holes and bolted the inserts in. No one is taking my grill again. Had an 95 S-10, its grill got stolen. JSmith is right all you need is a phillipshead screwdriver, it only take a half turn, don't force it! It helps to take out the lights also.

To take off the grill itself, no, you have twist locks and the clips, for the inserts (speaking of Stull), there was some cutting. Factory grill center to be exact.
It was my mistake, I jumped to the inserts, he was asking how to take the grill off, so NO, DO NOT CUT THE GRILL OFF! Just get a screwdriver and maybe a flashlight (helps in garages to see the twist locks) and you'll be alright.

SportVortech,
I know what you mean now. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I cut the grille fins out and just clipped the grille inserts to the shell with the provided clips. The inserts haven't moved at all and the install looks much cleaner.
