Default Anyone happen to know the approx weight of an ext cab?

Hey everyone I am just wondering how much a 2000 extended cab weighs. With everything in it like seats and such. I should clarify I mean just the cab part. Thanks a lot.

Also if anyone knows how much a frame might weigh that would be awesome too.

I should specify I mean just the cab alone. Like the extended cab ha. I know its a weird question but I was just wondering.

Just a question, have you done anything to lower the wight of yours? My truck according to the scrap yard scales weighs in around 5400. I don't have anything fancy in it to add weight at all.

Id say the full interior it shouldnt weigh no more than 600#. But thats a shot in the dark. I know two of us flipped a EC off the frame pretty easy. The cabs arent all that heavy.

And my 2000 EC 2wd 1500 with the 6.0/80e, a sts turbo kit water/air IC, an extra battery, big tool box in the bed and a bunch of junk. It weighed 5150 when i made my 12.5 sec pass.
Got home and cleaned all my junk out and it weighed 4700, thats with nothing removed that come from the factory.
I had 450# worth of junk, tools, guns, ammo, chains, binders, straps and other things a normal truck would have in it haha.

Last time i went to the scrap yard it weighed 4950.

What reason you need to know the cab weight?

I am taking the cab off so I can paint the frame, get to the transmission, transfercase, and whatever mis parts I will end up replacing. I am questioning the weight because I will build a stand I can set the cab on and just roll the frame out and leave it there until its ready to go back together.

That there should take you to the pics. I am basically rebuilding the entire truck from the ground up. I figured the transmission went out so why not get it all done at once.

That little bit of work took my and my friend only a few hours of actual work to accomplish (although a month in time). I would like to get a build thread up on it but I am not making progress that fast with it at the moment so I figured I would wait. I have videos going through most of the process of it, thought I would upload them all and share.

Anyway yea thats why I wanted to know. It makes me wonder why mine weighs so much though. I have never seen it below 5000 and mines a 4.8L with the 60e

Thanks a lot for the responses though guys.

I think that might be it, we had 2 people with us at the time and around a half tank of gas. Another reason I thought out might be that mine is a 4wd but then again I am not sure how much weight that adds to the overall truck. I am still very newish at this stuff.
