Default Anyone else sick of their truck?

Man, I am sooooo tired of my truck. It is underpowered, slow, gets crappy gas milage, weak transmission/axle, and parts are just not worth the cash for it. $700+ headers. $500 programming tools. $750 torque converter. Etc.! I just can't fathom stuffing $3000 into for a 6.0, cam, stall, and EDIT...then have the trans take a crap on me AND still run in the high 14's if I am lucky.

Damn I wish the market was not so lousy now and I would try to off it. Anyone want a 44K mi very clean pewter '01 Z71 LT ext cab with a stepside bed and a SungTop?

Feelin' low about it...Eric.

Its all good man. I guess we are all in a love/hate relationship with our truck. Just some a lot more than others.

It was cool, but now just boring. I am ready for a Turbo Diesel...insane power, economy, and 4 REAL doors. Ext cab is just a tall person's regular cab.

Put a 100 shot on that thing and wake it up. It's cheap, it's safe if you don't get greedy with it, and you'll be in love again.

Overall I like my truck but I do wish it weighed a little less than 2 1/2 tons.

I totally agree with all this after market crap though. They are ripping us a new @$$ hole plain and simple. There is no way in hell a set of headers are worth $1200 dollars, I don't care if they're gold plated.

If all goes as planned, I will be able to flip my truck at years end with no loss in profit. I need to call my bank and see what the pay off is on it. I am still undecided on to go with a Duramax or a Powerstroke. Probably a Duramax as they are more what I have been reading about. Either way I will be in a crew cab, turbo diesel, automatic, 4x4.

There are FAR worse vehicles to be driving around in than a Z71. When I sold my Formula I had to drive this GMC around for 6 months and I grew bored of it pretty quickly. These trucks are great for cruising in (very comfortable), but are just TOO slow for me. So, I bought the '02 SS for a part-time daily driver and now I like both.

i love my truck...when it's running right and i'm not having to spend all day fixing stuff. i get to where i hate it and want to get rid of it once a month or so and then get over it. now that i have a daily driver and don't HAVE to drive the truck all the time it's better. the lopelopelope sound it makes through the new true dual exhaust doesn't hurt either, half the time i'll start it and stand and listen to it for a minute before i go somewhere.
