Default Any 2500HD 6.0 RCLB guys?

I am considering looking into maybe an 07 classic or used 05-06 2500 HD 6.0 gasser in the RCLB config. I know the 6.0's get considerably less gas mileage, but was just wondering if anyone here had one and what they average? It would be a 2WD/auto trans truck.

my 00 ECLB 4x4 got about 13-14 in summer, 10-11 in winter. I know its not the same thing, but I cant imagine it getting much better mileage. And that 34 gallon tank, I couldnt even fill it up all the way, pump shuts off at $75

My '01 RCLB 2500HD 4x4 gets about 11-13mpg now, but that's on 35" Mud Terrains. Back when it had the stock size tires, I got around 15mpg city or highway.

Well, and I'm not even saying that I'm going to do anything. But I am actively researching new trucks amd trying to see if I want to make a switch. I know I'd like to get something different, but I don't know that I could make it work in a positive way for me.

Not saying every truck is the same but my 7000lb beast gets better gas mileage than my buddys '06 2500hd rclb....so I wouldn't completely cancel the thought of getting an 8.1. dont forget if the truck has more torque to begin with it will move that weight around much more efficiently than that 6L which is working harder. MPG is all about how efficiently you can move weight so in this case tq wins, if we were talking about cars than theres this thing called aerodynamics that helps but we drive bricks so forget that.

I got 17 highway but its a 5-speed and all the mods stock was probly around the same as the guys up top. BTW the 35's help in highway milege, drops the gear to somewhere around 3.70 3.80
