Just a quick question....well 2 questions

1. Long oil filters....been hearing about them in threads whats the diff between them and the reg. length oil filter? I have always used the oil filter they have under the 5.3L in the oil part number books. Are they under a diff engine?

2. Running RP also been hearing you can run it longer than 3-4k miles. I have always changed the oil at 3k before swithing to RP. Still feel wiered about running it over 3k miles. So is it true can i run this oil longer? should i switch filters at 3k then go another 1k or 2k miles???

I use a WIX 51522 (pretty sure thats the part number) its the same size as my stock filter, just longer. Im really tired of the guys at Oreilys though so Im going to start ordering them online. I have a 5.3 as well.

Im running Royal Purple right now. Im going 8000 miles on the oil but changing the oil filter half way through and topping off what was lost during the filter change.
