Another "breaks for bogarts" thread!!

Don't know if its on the right section, if its not then mods plz move the thread.
Anyways,im debating into what to do here. I bought some bogarts from a friend that he had on his 08 silver ado..and I'm guessing BS is over 6" cus it hits that brake line bolt in the back. I also milled those bolts till both rims fitted. But then i put new brake pads on and now the dam rims won't fit again with those damn bolts...i grinded my calipers so much that the inner bolt uncovered to view. Being that now i know calipers are at weaker point...so i bought some brake drums to swap but I've heard that ill have trouble to spool the turbo at the starting line cuz supposedly the disks hold more stopping power then drums...can any one relate to this or have known this true???

I also posted this answer to your question in the other thread.
If the drum brakes are in good shape and adjusted properly, they should hold well. They will have a lot of surface area holding that drum stationary.
You should put a line lock on your rear brake line, so you can deactivate the rear brakes during your burnout. Turn em back on after your burnout, pump up the pedal at the line, and build boost for your launch.

Install the line lock up on the frame, at the rear of the truck. Switch on the dash wherever you decide. Basically install it backwards, so it prevents the rear brakes from applying(rather than locking the front brakes on as designed). When the valve is closed(switch on), your rear brakes will be inop. When the valve is open(switch off), the rear brakes will work as normal.
Easy peasy.

If you do drum brakes are you also installing c clip eliminaters? Iv seen some nasty things happen if a axle shaft snaps and comes out. I spent like 3 hours grinding my buddys brakes yesterday, it really sucks.

WHOW, what are those? its my first time ill be doing this so don't have a clue bout it....and surely won't want an axle passing me by at the track. lol

Don't worry, they don't offer c clip eliminators for the Chevy truck 10 bolt. There is a way to do it but you will have to cut your diff and add 9inch housing ends and then get custom axles that will take the ford 9inch bearing and then you can get whatever you want for it. That's what I'm doing so that's why I know. I've called everybody
