Another Big brake kit question

Ok guys....If money was no object. Which big brake kit would you purchase and why?

My dream wish list includes the SSBC big brakes...can't remember the exact specifics, but I know that they are 14" rotors and multi-piston calipers. The rotor have "turbo" slots (the slots are kinda curved), and aren't drilled, which I like (I've seen drilled rotors crack between the holes). These are the brakes that I'm getting when I win the lottery lol...

I hear that wilwood and baer are now doing 16" rotors, any advantage over the 14" or more just show?

If the calipers and pads are larger also, I would think that the bigger rotors and pads would allow for more of a friction surface which would result in better stopping. If they just use the same size pads, I don't see how there would be a noticable difference, except for price lol. The larger rotors will disapate(sp?) heat better, but in a normal application, I don't think that the difference would be noticable.

I have done the SSBC, 14" slotted, 3 piston, all four corners. That along with Hydroboost and my brick now stops well.

I recommend them. They work well, and bolted right up. Only modification was a slight trimming to the rear dust shield.

If money was no object....I'd go with the Brembo Gran Tourismo set up. But........it's about $6,000 for all 4 wheels. I've decided to go with the SSBC kit, the same ones as KYsilverado has. In Fact, I almost bought those when they originally came up for sale, but hesitated. Now....Rodger got a super deal!!! I bought a set of the Baer 6s 15" rotor fronts, and Alumasport 14" for the rear, but don't like them because they don't match. Sold the 6s fronts, and still have the rear Alumasport kit for the rear for sale, if you want to go that way. I think the SSBC 3 piston calipers, and 14" rotor kits for front, and rear is the perfect middle of the road brake upgrade kit. Now......if you have a 7000# monster, you might need a little more.........

Wilwood, 6 piston and 16" rotors. They would stop extremely well, and would look great behind your wheels. Wouldn't want them crossdrilled though, just slotted for the reason mentioned above. Can't forget stainless lines to keep the pedal from being spongy.

Make sure your wheels clear the calipers---- if you are upgrading calipers!!

I'm not talking size wise but spoke clearance, the z06 caliper won't clear my wheel

**** SSBC. Their products are **** and their customer service is even worse. I would go Vette brakes, Baer, or Wilwood. There are some other great companies I am leaving out, but stay away from SSBC.

STOPTECH makes a great kit for these trucks....so does ROTORA and AP racing. I do not know which I would go with....probably stoptech.

the 16s from Wilwood look great, but you need 22s to clear. SSBC now offers a 6 piston 15" kit.

I am in the process of hydroboost and SSBC 14" rotors w/relacation brackets, porterfield pads adn goodridge lines. and only $1100 in parts and cryo treatment of the pads/rotors.
