So you got an extra 2.5 mpg by doing the exhaust and the airaid jr kit?. I am lucky to even get that much extra with my 01 truck and it has a k&n intake, replaced the stock muffler with a magnaflow, left stock tailpipe and seen a little increase not as much as you. I do have a custom tune and I was getting 19 in the summer, now its down to 17.5. How much mpg are you getting overall?

Your truck must really respond well to mods...I did basically the same thing and all I got was noise lol (I do like noise though). I did my FIPK one day after work, thought I felt something, and eventually realized it was just me punching the go pedal more to hear the sound of the FIPK. My mileage decreased since I was getting on it so much more.

Well, a week later I installed Gibson shorties, and the next day did a Gibson cat-back. If I did pick up anything, I couldn't feel it. Might have to do with the fact that my truck is a 99....biggest gains I got was from cam, tuned 02 PCM (along with 00+ injectors...99's don't flow as much as 00 and up), and a few years later I ditched the shorties for some StainlessWorks LT's with catted y-pipe, and removed the dual tail pipes from the Gibson cat back, and the truck seemed to pull much better.

On a different note, the Amsoil dry air filter came last night, so hopefully I'll have a few free minutes this weekend to swap it in and take some pics (if I can remember to 1)charge the digital camera and 2) bring it with me when I go to work on the truck lol. The filter looks nice....looks like a blue K&N or Volant filter, only without the oily residue

i just used a flat k&n filter, cut a hole in the front and bottom of my box. and bought the airaid intake tube. 100 for the tube and 35 for the filter. it was better than using a open element with a heat plate around it IMO. and not as noisy.

With my mods in my sig below I can get 20-21 mpg on the highway driving 70 MPH. The pulley, tune and e-fans helped out the most. It also doesn't hurt that I run 3.42.I didn't notice much at all from the intake and it fell off alot (K&N FIPK). So now I just use a K&N filter and Air Raid tube.
