Aftermarket speaker question

For you guys that have changed out the stock(suck) sounding speakers, did you do all four or just the fronts, i'm undecieded right now on what to do, they audio place keeps telling me that not doing the rear 4x6's will result in to little hi and mid and to much low. Has anyone just canceled out the rears and just run the fronts? =would i be happy enough with out the rears or regret it? shoot me some feedback on what you have done.

I have Boston Pro Series componants in my front, powered by a PPI 300 watt amp. I also have two 10" JL subs behind my seats powered by a PPI 400 watt amp. I do not run the stock 4x6's at all and it is plenty loud. If you get a good set of componants, powered by a good amp, there is really no need for the rear speakers.

I swapped out my stock HU with Kenwood XDC-859 MP3 and replaced the door speakers with MBQuart DKD 116 and left the stock 4x6 speakers and ran it all off the HU. The rear speakers definitely made it sound better. If I faded to just the front speakers the sound was near as full. But the sound quality was lacking from the stock speakers. One week later I was went back and picked up a set of MB Quart 4x6's. It now has a much cleaner sound. Later I plan to upgrade and add 4 channel amp and subwoofers. If you are not going to a subwoofer behind the seat right away I would go ahead and spend a few extra bucks on the 4x6's for the rear.

I really don't think any else has heard of DB Drive speaker and amps unless you are fromt he RGV. From my understaning, only a local retailer sell them (D-tronics). I bought a pair of of compoonents and they sounded ok they just did not last to long. I am much happier with my MB Quart PSC 216's. I have some Polk 4 inch components for the rear of my ext cab. The mid is on a 4x6 adopter. RGVSsierra, I am selling these since I am the process of getting rid of my truck.

I run the boston pros in the front and aria plates in the back. I have a audio control cross over that i keep the back speaker's volume low as not to over power the front. I have a PPI 200 watt amp pushing my PPI 10 inch sub. I wish i had room for 2 subs but my Naaaaaaaws tank takes up the space behind my seat.

shark_g,
which series did you get that didnt last to long, they have 3 right now, the intro series, the speed series and platinums which are the ones i'm getting, i have thought this out and i am going to go with a four channel amp and run the stock 4x6's along with the platinums and later on if i feel it will sound better i will just replace the the stock 4x6's..
SO when you gonna get that 02 Regular cab? Look me up for a race when you get it. i have some mods if you'd like to start modding already, comp 212 218 and a 2800 stall verter i dont want anymore. care for them? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I am planning on doing a similar set up to 01 5.3's. I am going to get either Infinity or Polk for front and rear, amping the fronts and run the rears off my Alpine 852(if I dont get the new 9815 comming out in march). I am currently running the stock componets off the head with two JL 10w0-8 off a MRV-1000.
Red2K... how much air do the PPI subs need? I am running my two JL's behind the seat beside my bottle.
