Default Advice Needed, Want to buy a Truck

I am looking to buy a 2000 Chevy Silverado. Just wanted to get some advice to see if the price is fair.

Details are....

2000 Chevy Silverado C1500 White

Standard Cab, 8ft Box w/ bed liner (I believe 8ft)

5.3L, Automatic Trans

Grey cloth interior, AM/FM/CD Stereo, A/C

103,000 miles

$7000

The milage is a bit over average. (About 20,000 per year) This was a lease return bought at auction and everything checks out OK on the carfax report. No accidents, two owners, and appears as if it was a daily driver and not used for work or abused.

I also wanted to inquire how many miles people have put on their 5.3L motors in their trucks. I only have a 5 mile round trip commute to work and last year I only put 7,000 miles on my daily driver. How many miles are these motors generally good for before a rebuild is needed, provided it has been properly maintnanced for the last 4 years?

I know a lot of this is speculation, but please share your experiences if you don't mind.

Thanks in advance,

Ross

8ft is the long bed , if you dont the long bed , thats expensive too much miles you should pay 5k to 6k for that truck

that doesn't sound too bad for a price. the miles are high, but you get a pretty good truck for $7K. i have the 5.3 and i love it. got alot of torque and power. i think 2001 and newer have even more HP. i think there is a better cam in those models. not sure though

i have a 99 with 67K miles. alot of people are getting over 150K miles. i think some still have the stock rotors and pads. i think the tranny will go 1st before the brakes do on these trucks.
