AC question
#1
I installed my 05 E-fans with the Nelson harness controlled with my PCM tuned from Nelson. Since I have done this and been using my AC alittle bit the last week or so the clutch has been cycling off and on continously. The pass side fan comes on when ever the clutch is on for the AC, today it was 64 degres outside do you think that my AC should be cycling off and on every 30 seconds or stay on longer? Should I get it looked at? Do you know what the pressure for the gas is on the high and low side?

The compressor clutch cycles on and off all the time. It's not a problem. What I want to know is why you are using your a/c when it's only 64 degrees?
The compressor clutch will also cycle like that when you set the switch over to defroster mode - even when the a/c is off.

Sounds pretty normal. That fan is loud, so now you notice it. As soon as tax season is over I am going to try to find another way to activate that relay using the A/C request instead of the compressor. Then the fan will stay on with the A/C request from the HVAC system instead of cycling with the compressor. I don't think it will be quite as bothersom.

Guys,
I have the 05 E-fan in my truck with the Nelson wiring harness. As it is wired the passenger side fan comes on high every time the A/C compressor locks. There have been posts about the voltage drop with this and the 105 amp alternator, which I am goinging to upgrade. Another I noticed yesterday on a long road trip and the first time I've used A/C for extended period is that the fan also comes on regardless of highway speed. There is no need for the fan to come on with air moving accross the condenser at highway speed.
I plan on putting a thermostat in the A/C condenser in series with the A/C lead. Allowing the fan to kick on only if the temperature is high enough. Does anyone know a source for such a thermostat. The kind that goes through a radiator like I've seen used with the aftermarket fan kits. Anybody know what temperature I should use to kick fan on and off for the A/C condenser?
