About to buy my chevy! What am I looking for???
#1
OK here's the deal. I'm selling my v6 mustang for a truck. I love trucks, I want to be in a truck, and they are at least some what more reliable.
My budget... about $10-15,000
So I'm thinking 00-03 extended cab? Probably around 60K 70K miles on it.
Any certain model yall recommend? Any certain thing I should check for?
Also, the chevy's have 10,000+ appearance mods but my question is how much would it take for me to be able to beat a 99-04 GT?
Gts are rated 245 RWHP.
The chevy 5.3 has 285BHP? How much RWHP?
So from your experience, can you beat the ricers/mustangs with lets say a full bolt-on 5.3 extended cab??

I got my 05 crew cab Z71 2 months ago with 74k on the clock for $16.5k. I would think you could easily find an extended cab in your price range.
I think the 5.3L have 295HP (and one certain model L33???? has like 305).

I would walk a stockish GT with my 5.3 ecsb before the cam and nitrous... after the bottle it got worse... after the cam... even worse... drivetrain mods such as gears/stall/shift kit and tuning make these trucks feel really strong even with a stock motor with a tune, adding bolt ons just helps from there. go farther into it, it gets faster with a cam etc etc... power adders are always fun on these motors as well, they respond very well.

And yes, these trucks are pretty quick for stock. On the rare occasions when I get my foot into it, it'll fly.
