Default '99 Running like crap under load

'99 5.3l Silverado with 143k miles, about 3 tanks of gas back the truck started missing, jerking, bucking pretty bad when I gave it half throttle or more. I noticed it didn't matter if the truck was warm or not. No check engine light comes on. I'm gonna start with the fuel filter and spark plugs and I wanted to see what you guys thought.

Sounds like fuel pump to me. With my luck the cheap/easy fixes never are the cause of my issues.

if there isn't a flashing SES light (misfire being detected) while you are having that issue, then I am with BlackGMC on the fuel pump falling on it's face basically. depending on how long it's been since the truck has had a tune up, I would go ahead and atleast throw a new set of plugs in and try it again. if it continues, then I would look at fuel pressure at the rails while it happens. either a Tech 2 or a fuel pressure gauge.

Disregard, 3 tanks ago, I had to top of the oil in the truck and must have monkey'd up the intake tube. While I was changing the spark plugs I noticed the intake tube after the mass air meter was barely hanging on and had a gap at the bottom. :face palm:
