We are blowing cold!!!!! I wish I could show you a picture of the air coming out the vents cause hot damn I did it!! Also big thanks to RedXray for helping me fix the gap, I have it mated to the dash where there is no gap practically, probably could have brought it up a bit more on the right side but I was literally sweating my *** off trying to bolt with one hand and lift with another. Will post a photo tomorrow but I am beyond happy. Now all I have to do is hook up my usb outlets and I will be golden.
This is the result with the bracket, as you can see the gap between the console and the knee bolster is gone and the gap between dash bezel and console is almost gone. I kept it a little low because I am not done installing my usb port and it is easier to take the top panel off, also I was working alone and couldn't get it just right, going to wait for a friend to lift up each side so it is a bit easier to get it perfect.
These photos are in the most unflattering angle as well, obviously it is non existent practically from driver's side and passenger side it is just barely there so even if I never get around to fixing it I will be happy
Got the usb working today, had a blown fuse. I pulled the console as far up as I could possibly bring it and there is still a little gap but it is nothing that I can see or am looking at to be honest. I'll post a pic later tonight it is effin humid outside and I was sweating my *** off
Ha of course not! top down Driver Side now passenger side now
These are the now photos. I am happy with it and my car looks disgusting. When raising I could tell I was clearly running into something. I have a theory that maybe since I have ac pushing into the rear the dash might be a little different seeing as the only people I have seen do this so cleanly is guys with single cabs. Could be a coincidence but alas this is good to me. Happy with the finished product.
You'd have to duck your eyes down low to see the gap. Looks 99% better and with the console tied to the dash you know it's gonna eliminate a heck of a lot of rattling. If you don't have a cubby pocket where the air bag goes... that's a clean place for a USB port, mine is the USB for the head unit.
Yeah I agree. I think this setup looks nice and basically unnoticeable. Did you paint your console? My usb is where the cig lighter used to be and I will be putting another one in the rear.
